FCTG CEO Graham “Skroo” Turner Runs London Marathon 43 Years After His First London Marathon

A few weeks on from April 2026’s London Marathon, the event still stands out as a brilliant snapshot of Flight Centre Travel Group culture in action, built on resilience, support, and a genuine commitment to wellbeing.
This year, 19 Flighties lined up to take on the 26.2 miles of London and every single one made it to the finish. From the buzz at the start line to the final stretch through the capital, it was a day full of energy, determination and strong support for each other along the way.
A real highlight was Flight Centre Travel Group founder Graham “Skroo” Turner completing his ninth London Marathon at the age of 76.
Skroo’s relationship with the event goes all the way back to 1982, when he ran in only the second ever London Marathon alongside Bill James. That’s 43 years between his first London Marathon and this latest one. Ahead of this year’s race, he also rediscovered his original 1982 medal, a small but powerful reminder of just how long this journey has been running alongside his life and career.

What stands out most is not just that Skroo runs, but how consistently he lives the principles behind FCTG’s wellbeing approach. Health and wellbeing is not something he talks about in isolation, it is something he actively demonstrates. Whether it is staying highly active at 76, continuing to take on endurance challenges, or encouraging others by example rather than instruction, he embodies the idea that looking after your health is foundational, not optional.
More than 25 years ago, Skroo and former Co CEO Tod Horton founded Healthwise Global, built on a simple belief that better health leads to better lives, stronger performance and more sustainable success. What started as a straightforward idea has grown into a global initiative that continues to support the health, wellbeing and productivity of employees and their families across FCTG.
Importantly, Healthwise has never sat on the sidelines of the business. It is embedded in how the organisation thinks about leadership, energy and longevity. Skroo’s own approach reinforces that every day, showing that wellbeing is something to be lived, not just communicated.
