🎤𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝑭𝑪𝑻𝑮?

I joined FCTG in 2005 in Flight Centre Retail in Oxford Plaza, London, the smallest shop in the world, with no sales experience at all, so it was quite an introduction.Within a year I opened my own shop in Queensway, such happy times.

Two years in I moved into an L&D role at Euston Road, helping train managers in a live store and we made it profitable for the first time.From there I became General Manager at Kingsway, then moved into a Head of Land role, learning so much about suppliers and product.

I then joined FCM, where I took on the lowest performing team in Farringdon and within two years it became the most improved globally. I was later promoted to Senior Manager overseeing five teams.After a sabbatical in Colombia and a role in NYC launching an Ops team, I returned to Edinburgh for seven very happy years in Account Management. I am now a Solution Design Consultant, also supporting new business and optimisation work.

🎤𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝑭𝑪𝑻𝑮 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏?

I started in retail helping customers book travel anywhere in the world and absolutely loved it. Now I work with enterprise clients designing and optimising complex travel programmes. It is worlds apart, but everything I have done has led me here.

A friend told me FCTG would suit me perfectly because of the people and the work hard play hard culture, and he was right. The people and the ability to have open conversations about my Best and Only Future, and feel genuinely supported, are what keep me here.

Six Global Balls, especially the first in Hawaii, which was unforgettable. Winning Travel Weekly Manager of the Year in 2007 was a huge moment. And seeing Farringdon 14 become Most Improved Team Globally will always stand out.

‍Tom Walley supported my growth in retail and developing people, which became a strength. Steve Norris brought me into FCM and I am very grateful for that opportunity.
