At Flight Centre Travel Group, we believe that making a difference goes beyond the work we do every day. It’s also about giving back to the communities we’re part of and creating positive change in the places where we live and work.

Our Flight Centre Travel Group UK Fast Track team, made up of early-career talent, recently stepped away from the day-to-day to spend time volunteering with HandsOn London, a small but mighty charity dedicated to making London, and the communities within it, a better place for everyone.

Making a difference with HandsOn London

As part of HandsOn London’s BrightenUp London initiative, our team spent the day at Wormwood Scrubs Open Space, getting stuck in to help protect, improve and maintain one of London’s much-loved green spaces.

From improving pathways to clearing litter and overgrown branches, the day was a great reminder that even small actions can have a meaningful impact on the spaces we share.

Throughout the day, our team:

🌿 Improved 150m (250m²) of footpath in the Wormwood Scrubs copse using recycled woodchip

🌳 Increased accessibility by clearing trees and branches from pathways

🗑️ Removed four bags of litter from the site

Teamwork beyond the workplace

For our Fast Track team, the day was also a fantastic opportunity to step away from the usual routine, spend time outdoors and work together in a completely different environment.

Volunteering not only gave the team the chance to contribute to our local community, but also created a great opportunity to connect, collaborate and put our values into action.

A huge thank you to the HandsOn London team for welcoming us and for everything you do to bring volunteers together and create lasting change across the city. We’re proud to have played a small part in helping to brighten up London! 🌱
