AI is great at parsing resumes, but it’s terrible at empathy. Helping a candidate relocate. AI can solve for logistics, but it can’t solve for peace of mind.

I once had a candidate who was so nervous they accidentally joined the interview from their car while parked at a drive thru. We ended up spending the first five minutes debating the best menu items- it broke the ice instantly, and they ended up being the perfect hire. It reminded me that we’re all just humans trying to navigate the journey!

I treat every interview like a pre-flight briefing. We’re not just ticking boxes on a job description; we’re mapping out a journey, and making sure they’re buckled in for an adventure, not just a desk job.
