The award-winning Flight Centre Travel Group has an exciting role within the Enterprise Architecture team in Technology for a Cloud Architect, based in Head Office in New Malden. This individual will take the lead on supporting, designing and implementing our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with the Network, IT Security & Compliance and Azure Architect areas to build and maintain our Azure cloud environments. We are looking for an individual with an excellent knowledge of the Azure platform to play a key role in supporting our public cloud platforms as well helping to evolve and improve the services we deliver.

Main responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Azure I/PaaS issues
  • Configure and deploy Azure resources
  • Engineer, implement, and monitor security solutions to protect all systems, networks and data
  • Assist with network security architectures, on premise and cloud solutions
  • Prepare recommendations and implement changes to work methods and procedures to make them more effective and/or to strengthen security measures
  • Act as the primary point of escalation and investigation for cloud issues and resolution
  • Act as security incident escalation point
  • Conduct incident investigation and reporting,
  • Generate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and submit for review
  • Interact with our other DevOps Engineers in a fast paced and rewarding environment

You will have experience of implementing and supporting software defined datacentre architectures (including storage, network, and compute) and infrastructure as code. You will also be adept at monitoring performance through statistical reporting and analysis.

Specific experience desired:

  • Extensive Cloud migration experience utilising Azure
  • Experience working in IaaS and PaaS projects
  • Extensive implementation experience in an enterprise environment
  • Good understanding and usage of Azure Foundations and Scaffolding
  • Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS Connectivity
  • Azure Networking (Express Route, Virtual Networks, ASG / NSG, Azure Firewall)
  • Azure Active Directory, Identity Management, RBAC, AAD Connect
  • Azure SQL - PaaS Databases and Managed Instance
