What we look for in candidates

Every application is considered by our team on individual merit. We select people based on a combination of life and work experience, and of course, attitude.
You can read more about our criteria here:

Completion of year 12 or further education

Whilst not essential, this demonstrates an ideal level of education as well as the ability & dedication to complete structured learning. Being able to communicate effectively and professionally is important.

A passion for travel

We love travel and the joy it brings! Your own travel experience and destination knowledge means you know, first hand, what your customers can expect - at the airport and beyond!

Service & sales experience

Our customers are at the centre of everything we do, so experience exceeding expectations and building relationships is great. As well being able to match and sell holidays to suit their needs, you’ll have experience managing the customer experience with genuine care, enthusiasm, confidence and dedication.

Drive & motivation

We work in a high pressure and outcome orientated environment, so we are looking for self-motivated and driven people. We work towards targets and key performance indicators (KPI's), which we discuss daily. Experience working towards challenging goals with ambition, accountability and persistence will be rewarded and recognised here at Flight Centre.

Attention to detail

An average booking involves many individual components and steps, so thoroughness is crucial. Our work environments are generally unpredictable and busy. You will be able to show us through previous examples that you’re organised, practical and able to handle multiple priorities.

Optimism is a valuable trait! We look for people who can manage their own behaviour to stay positive in the face of setbacks, and handle problems with a smile and great attitude.

Openness to learning

We love to develop our people, so it’s crucial to be open to feedback and different ways of doing things in order to improve. Expect a steep learning curve in this role, as well as an expectation to continuously develop.

Team player

Whilst we are accountable for our own work, we always work in a team. You’ll enjoy celebrating team achievements, and genuinely care about others. We develop strong, trustworthy relationships with colleagues and go out of our way to help them.
